Bambike's 2018 in 5 Highlights

What does sunset, a chariot, and Filipino folklore have in common? They're all part of our BAMazing 2018!

Last year brought great opportunities for Team Bambike. Our humble team feels the bamboo industry and ecotourism growing! Thank you for supporting Bambike! With your continuous support, we will drive even further sustainable business practices.

We want to share with you some of the amazing things that happened. Here are the 5 highlights of our 2018!

1. New Tours

Have you ever dreamed of cycling into the sunset? How 'bout exploring a historic site as it's illuminated by the moonlight? We did, so we made it happen!

You can now experience the historic walled city of Intramuros on sunset and night!

The Sunset Tour will take you up to the Sky Deck of Bayleaf Hotel. With a complimentary drink in hand, you can sit back and enjoy the sunset.

The Night Tour will start when the sun is about to set. You will see Manila in a different light (*wink*) as you cruise through the lighted streets of Intramuros. End your experience with a complimentary drink at the Bambike HQ!

2. New Booking Platforms

Even better, new and good ol' tours can now be booked on TripAdvisor and Klook, among other booking platforms! This is on top being able to book through our site.

3. Manila Fame and the Chariot

Manila Fame is a premier lifestyle and design event that features some of the best artisan local products Philippines has to offer. For 2018, the famed trade show featured a bamboo installation, showcasing innovative bamboo products, some of which are Bambikes!

Among the crowd favorites--Luntian 2.0, Victoria 2,0, and Bambino--the newest addition to the Bambike family was showcased for the first time. This is the Chariot, an engineered bamboo transportation expertly handcrafted to deliver passengers an elevated form of ecotourism.

With Bambike’s Founder Bryan are DTI Philippines Secretary Ramon Lopez, DTI Trade and Investments Promotion Group Usec. Nora Terrado, DTI Design Center of the Philippines Executive Director Director Rhea Matute, and Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions Exec. Director Pauline Suaco-Juan.

4. Intramuros Investigation: Mystery Manila x Bambike

Guests explored the dark side of Intramuros as they took an exciting bamboo bicycle ride as the night fell. Tasked as paranormal investigators, they had to solve mysterious events that enveloped historical landmarks. Initially held for the Halloween, the activity had another run in November 31 and December 1 due to high demand.

5. Green Spark: Makiling Botanic Gardens and Guimaras

Green Spark sites in Makiling Botanic Gardens (MBG) and Guimaras will have a bike playground equipped with Bambikes, and trail features such as ramps and interactive bamboo sculptures. In Guimaras, an ecotour will take guests to Guimaras' less traveled landscape.

A trial period already started in MBG, where guests can use Bambikes in the MBG oval for free!

We've already mapped out the ecotour route for Guimaras, and we're telling you: It's going to be epic!

Green spark isn't all about just having a good time--though you WILL have a good time. The project also aims to spark a Green Revolution in ecotourism activities. It aspires to transform communities to green communities by providing livelihood that works in tune with the environment.

Ready for 2019?

We sure are! Stay tuned for more ecotourism experiences, exciting new bamboo innovations, and Green Spark!
